Student Startup Landing Pad
What is it?
The Student Startup Landing Pad is a new initiative delivered by the Gold Coast Innovation Hub workspace powered by Little Tokyo Two and Startup Apprentice and is co-funded with the support of Study Gold Coast’s Vision 2020 fund.
The project will provide young innovators with the space, resources and support to continue working on their business ideas after participation in school and university led programs or competitions such as the Mayor’s Telstra Technology Awards and Startup Weekends.
The Gold Coast Innovation Hub was launched in 2017 and is located at 36 Laver Drive, Robina.

At the centre of the hub is a purpose built three story work and event space designed by innovators, for innovators, where startups and scale-ups can connect, collaborate, grow, raise investment and expand into global markets. Home to around 200 innovators, this is the ideal location for student teams progress and commercialise their projects.
What is a Student Mentor?

As a student mentor you should have:

- Great leadership skills;
- A #Givefirst attitude;
- A desire to become part of the Gold Coast Innovation and Startup Ecosystem.
Mentors are paired with a student team that they will support by providing advice, assistance and encouragement and will in turn become an affiliate member of the Gold Coast Innovation Hub, having access to the programs and services offered there for business owners.
Mentors are rewarded for their efforts with the following benefits:
- Free residency in the student landing pad for a school term;
- Introductions to networks of investors, mentors and strategic partners;
- Access to a community that supports young entrepreneurs;
- Business advice and access to services to help young innovators to grow their business.
Positioned in the heart of the Innovation Hub the landing pad will also allow opportunities for student mentors to interact and converse with dozens of digital and technology based businesses that utilise the workspace.
